What to Expect This Year – WGB

Microsoft’s transition to the world’s biggest multiplatform games publisher is in full effect, and yet one of the longest rumoured exclusives to make the jump still has not appeared: Starfield.

But according to the fairly reliable NateTheHate, who has a good track record discussing Xbox-to-PlayStation ports, Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG is still on track to come to PS5 this year. It’ll join the likes of Indiana Jones & The Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5, and upcoming titles like Gears of War Reloaded and The Outer Worlds 2. Just the other day, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was also announced for PS5, a game that NateTheHate had previously said would come to PlayStation.

Replaying to a user on X who asked if Starfield plans had changed, NateTheHate replied by saying: “Starfield is coming to PS5 & intent should be announced this year.”

When asked if the game would also launch this year, Mr. Hate replied by saying “I would expect the gap between announcement and release to be minimal.”

Considering he’s saying an announcement is planned for this year, the implication is that it should also launch this year too, unless, of course, Microsoft decides to announce it on like December 31st at 11:59pm just to fuck with NateTheHate.

While Starfield has been a fairly divisive game, Bethesda has continued to support it with updates, and there’s supposed to be more DLC coming, too. Plus, at this point it would be weirder if Starfield didn’t come to PlayStation.
