E-readers tend to be on the bigger side, resembling the size of tablets. After all, you want something that’s roughly the size of a book. But what if you want something a little bit more pocketable? This e-reader might be a good choice, and right now, it has a neat discount attached to it.
The BOOX Palma 2 is an e-reader that’s roughly the size of your smartphone, and depending on what phone you have, it might even be smaller than your smartphone. It’s usually $299.99, but right now, if you use code HTGEEKPALMA30 during checkout, you can score a neat $30 discount that brings the price down to $269.99.

The Palma 2 features a 6.13-inch e-ink display that’s right there with most smartphones, and with 300 PPI, your text should continue looking as crisp as it can get. As far as hardware goes, it has an octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). It runs Android, so it has full access to the Google Play Store, letting you download various reading apps and audiobook apps—though your mileage may vary, since the e-ink display might make for a not optimal experience. We also have dual-tone adjustable front lights, a 16MP rear camera for document scanning, and a 3,950 mAh battery for extended use. Since it’s the size of a smartphone, it’s pretty good for reading stuff on the go, where you might not be able to carry around a traditional-sized e-reader.
It’s not perfect. My main gripe with it is the fact that it runs on Android 13, putting it a bit on the older side as far as updates go, since Android 16 is out any day now. If you don’t mind that and all you want is a pocketable device that can display e-books, this is still pretty good.
