Sloclap Confirm New Football Game, Rematch, Won’t Launch With Crossplay

In recent times, crossplay gaming has experienced a significant rise in the industry, enabling gamers to bridge the console gaps between friends and expand the accessible player base. Games like Fortnite, Rocket League and in recent times, Split Fiction, have all seen crossplay granted, so it’s odd to hear that a 5v5 football game, built around online matches, won’t be launching with the feature.

Rematch, the latest game developed by Sloclap, the studio behind the stylized hit Sifu, announced on their X account that Rematch won’t be launching with crossplay; however, it is very high on the team’s list to see it implemented.

Rematch is currently out on early access for players who purchased the premium editions, but will officially launch on June 19. The sports title is hoping it can bring a fun and highly engaging footballing experience to gamers with its arcade-feeling gameplay and matches that’ll be unhindered by fouls, offside and pauses.

Do you find it surprising that the Rematch isn’t launching with crossplay? Are you even a fan of crossplay? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
