Resident Evil Requiem Will Allow Players To Change Between First And Third Person

Capcom’s Resident Evil series has long been a staple for horror gamers. The long-running series has continued to excel thanks to a slew of excellent remakes of their early titles and a first-person redirection with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 8: Village.

The change of perspective created a divide between fans, with some preferring the up-close-and-personal action that the first-person camera could deliver, whilst others wanted the more traditional third-person gameplay they know and love from the series. Thankfully, Capcom is looking to tailor their latest venture, Resident Evil Requiem, to both parties, with the developer confirming that the title will allow players to switch freely between third and first-person perspectives.

Resident Evil Requiem will be the ninth mainline game in the series, with the new adventure set to release on February 27, 2026, which will see the title release during the series’ 30th anniversary.

Are you glad you will have the option to switch perspectives? Do you prefer playing Resident Evil in first or third-person? Let us know in the comments below.
