As of a few minutes before this writing, the ninth – mainline, at least – title in the seminal survival horror franchise was announced at Summer Game Fest. Capcom in general had a fairly large imprint on the annual gaming presentation, with additional Onimusha: Way of the Sword details, and the announcement of who’s in Street Fighter 6‘s Year 3. The biggest news, however, came at the end of the broadcast.
REIX, or Resident Evil Requiem, to use it’s full title, looks to follow Grace Ashcroft, FBI agent and tech analyst, and apparent daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak‘s reporter, Alyssa Ashcroft. It’s eight years after Alyssa’s murder, but it’s certainly uncertain where precisely on the RE timeline this will take place. Other than the obvious post-annihilation of Raccoon City, this contributor means.
Resident Evil Requiem has been announced for February 27, 2026. It will be on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
