Summer Game Fest 2025 closed out with a massive reveal: Resident Evil 9, or as it’s actually titled, Resident Evil: Requiem.
Not only did Capcom opt to reveal the latest entry in the iconic Resident Evil franchise, they also decided to announce the release date. February 27, 2026 is the day to mark in your calendar.
Keighly described it as a bold shift in both tone and gameplay for the series.
The trailer introduces Grace Ashcroft, a woman with a very familiar last name. She’s working for the FBI as a technical analyst at a desk piled high with folders and paperwork. Her boss summons her to his office and explains another body has been found, this time at the very same hotel her mother was murdered at. From there, things get weird as Grace beings having what seem to be flashbacks, before the camera hard cuts to her tied to a bed in an unknown location. And that’s when the horror starts making itself known.
Resident Evil 9: Requiem will launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
