In just a couple of months, PS5 users will be able to play the first Gears of War game on a PlayStation console in the form of Gears of War: Reloaded. However, players have an opportunity to check out the upgraded shooter early this month.
Gears of War: Reloaded PS5 multiplayer beta begins very soon.
During the Xbox Games Showcase festivities, Microsoft announced a two-weekend Multiplayer Beta for Gears of War: Reloaded for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 users. Players will be able to jump into the bloody action on June 13, 2025, however, anyone interested may have to pay a bit up front to get into the beta.
For PS5 players, beta access will be given to those who preorder Gears of War: Reloaded on the PS Store, which costs $39.99. The Multiplayer Beta will run between June 13 and 15 and between June 20 and 22. The beta period will be cross-platform and cross-play, so PlayStation users can play with their Xbox and PC friends.
In terms of specific times and details, the first Gears of War: Reloaded beta weekend begins on Friday, June 13 at 12 p.m. PST and ends on June 15 at 12 p.m. PST. This will feature the Team Deathmatch mode on the maps Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush. The second beta weekend begins Friday, June 20 at 12 p.m. PST and ends on June 22 at 12 p.m. PST. This period adds King of the Hill mode on the map Canal, as well as Courtyard and War Machine in Team Deathmatch.
As a bonus, players who preorder Gears of War: Reloaded, either digitally or physically, will get two character skins of Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud for multiplayer.
Gears of War: Reloaded launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 26.
