For the first time ever, the PlayStation 5 has finally caught up with the monthly active users on the PlayStation 4.
During a segment of one of Sony’s business meetings (via VGC), it was discovered that the PS5 appears to have a bigger share in the console users than last year, which saw the generations split about 50/50. Sony notes that the PS5 is the best way for players to play their content, but the PS4 remains an “important access point” for players and that they remain “committed to serving them.”
“The PlayStation 5 offers the best way for players to experience our content, and as such, its player base has continued to grow. These players are highly engaged, spending more on content and services than in prior generations. However, the PlayStation 4 remains an important access point for existing players to experience our content and services, and we remain committed to serving them.”
