Gears of War: E-Day co-developer, People Can Fly, has announced a plan to scale down their teams and suspend development of two of their projects; Gemini and Bifrost. It doesn’t seem to be impacting Project Delta, a PlayStation-linked game they’ve been tapped to make.
On Twitter, CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski signed a post announcing the bad news, explaining Gemini was canned due to excessive communication issues between PCF and its publisher. Meanwhile, Bifrost is due to cash flow problems, as it’s important to know that the dev team is not a full AAA studio, but rather a AA studio who gets tapped to co-develop big games.
This would mark the second time the studio has faced layoffs, with the last batch nixing upward of 120 employees back in December.
