Nearly seven months after its launch, PS5 Pro players are still awaiting console covers but Sony has once again prioritized announcing a new DualSense controller. Interestingly, it’s a revision of the fan-favorite Astro Bot controller that released last year, but Sony hasn’t said what’s being “updated” in the upcoming DualSense.
As PS5 Pro players wait for covers, Sony announces a new limited-edition DualSense controller
Sony has been mum about PS5 Pro covers beyond an initial confirmation that they were coming, prompting players to purchase third-party covers from sites like AliExpress. Still, there’s demand for official covers, but not a peep from Sony.
“We are delighted to also announce that an updated version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is launching later this year!” the company said yesterday. “This controller was crafted by our techno-magician designers at Sony Interactive Entertainment. And since the first controller proved so popular, we have brought it back with a new joyful twist to the touch pad!”
Sony asked fans to stay tuned for more information, which is expected “soon.”
Not that we need another DualSense controller, but once again, prepare for a PS Direct preorder fiasco followed by scalper listings on eBay. We’ll update our readers when we have more information.
