Milestone Gives Players Their First Look At Screamer Gameplay In Speed-Filled Trailer

Milestone is a developer synonymous with racing games. Known for their incredible backlog of racing titles, including the likes of: Gravel, Hot Wheels Unleashed, Ride and the MotoGP series. The studio has now turned its sights onto one of its original titles, Screamer, to bring the franchise back in 2026.

Initially released back in 1995 on the PC, the game cemented itself as an arcade racer playable at home. Now, 30 years later, Milestone has released gameplay footage of their updated take on the franchise, featuring stunning anime visuals and slick arcade racing in a package that looks like it could be a hell of a racer when it hits modern consoles next year.

Screamer aims to deliver an exciting take on the arcade racer, with adrenaline-pumping racers in an anime-inspired dystopian world, with races spanning across towering cities, scorched deserts and thick forests. The gameplay will also allow players to utilise the ECHO system, which will help turn vehicles into powerful weapons and turn the odds of races in your favour.

Screamer is set to release in 2026, but no release date has been given other than 2026. The racer is set to launch on both consoles and PC.

Did you play the original Screamer game back in 1995? Have you enjoyed any of Milestone’s other racing games? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
