Metal Gear Solid Delta Opening Movie Is A Nostalgic Treat For Fans

It’s been a while since Snake was in the spotlight, but back in February, Konami finally announced the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater during PlayStation’s State of Play. With the August 28 launch fast approaching, Konami is ramping up excitement once more.

The publisher unveiled the game’s official opening cinematic, filled with nostalgic nods that longtime fans will recognize and appreciate. The sequence was created by none other than Kyle Cooper, the renowned designer behind memorable title sequences for The Mummy, Spider-Man, and notably Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and the original Snake Eater from 2004.

But Konami didn’t stop there. The remake’s new theme song is once again performed by Cynthia Harrell, making a powerful return after her iconic performance of Snake Eater, which became a beloved classic in gaming history. Together, Cooper and Harrell have crafted an opening that not only delivers cinematic flair but also pays heartfelt homage to Hideo Kojima’s legendary style.

With its meticulous attention to detail and deep respect for the series’ legacy, Konami clearly aims to deliver a remake that will resonate strongly with longtime fans.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches on August 28. A Deluxe Edition packed with bonus content is already available for pre-order from retailers like Amazon for both PS5 and Xbox.
