Summary
- The Hyper HyperSpace Bluetooth Mouse is an affordable, travel-friendly option ($29.99) that’s surprisingly comfortable—even for large hands—thanks to its contoured design and quiet buttons.
- It’s lightweight, made from 85% recycled materials, and runs up to 18 months on a single included AA battery, avoiding the hassle of recharging during long trips.
- The mouse pairs with up to three devices via Bluetooth 5.0, features an adjustable DPI button, and works seamlessly with macOS, Windows, iPadOS, and ChromeOS, making it an excellent choice for productivity on the go.
While the keyboard experience of my M3 MacBook Air is great, I always seem to be more productive when using a real mouse instead of the trackpad. At home, I have a large and ergonomic Logitech mouse. But while traveling, the Hyper HyperSpace Bluetooth Mouse is my new go-to.

Small and Surprisingly Comfortable
I’ve previously shied away from travel mice for a simple reason. The usual option is much smaller, and uncomfortable to use for long periods of time. The HyperSpace definitely bucks that trend.
Sure, it’s smaller than a regular mouse you’re probably used to. Weighing just 2.5 ounces, it’s 4.1 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and 1.5 inches deep. I have large hands, but the contoured design that gave my right thumb a secure place to rest worked very well during daily use. Even though it’s covered with harder plastic, it doesn’t make my hand or fingers hurt like some other smaller mice. It’s as comfortable as the companion Hyper HyperSpace Bluetooth Keyboard that we’ve previously reviewed.
I was also pleased to see the mouse was made with 85 percent recycled materials. Hyper also says that the mouse is protected with an additive to help prevent microorganism growth.
Instead of being powered by a rechargeable battery, you’ll use a single AA cell that’s provided. To my surprise, it was actually a battery from a name-brand manufacturer, which is a shock, especially at this price range. Hyper says that battery will provide up to 18 months of use before it needs to be switched out. The battery compartment is on the bottom of the mouse with a cover that takes just a few seconds to remove.
While I would never purchase a full-time mouse with removable batteries, because of the travel-focused nature of the HyperSpace, I’m totally fine with just switching the battery out when needed. The last thing I want is a travel mouse with a rechargeable battery to run out of juice while sitting in a bag for a few months.
An Adjustable DPI Button for Whatever You Need
Switching to the top of the mouse, you’ll find a scroll wheel that is easy to turn but doesn’t turn too fast. Both the right and left click buttons were noticeably quiet, so you won’t disturb anyone around you.
On the left side of the mouse is a forward and backward key. By far the biggest surprise for me was the DPI button below the scroll button—I was skeptical about how well it would actually work.
But after a few days of using it, it is a nice feature to have, especially on such an inexpensive mouse.
Sporting Bluetooth 5.0, the mouse takes just a few seconds to get set up, no matter what. I used it with my MacBook Air and iPad Pro and never had any issues with latency.
A big advantage of the HyperSpace is that you can pair the mouse with up to three devices with just a tap.
On the bottom of the mouse, right above the power button, the toggle button allows you to switch devices. A small LED will show you the status of the pairing process so you won’t have to guess before starting to use it. It works with macOS, Windows, iPadOS, and ChromeOS.
Should You Buy the Hyper HyperSpace Bluetooth Mouse?
While the Hyper HyperSpace Bluetooth Mouse doesn’t have any extras you’d want for a full-time-use mouse, it offers a great deal for someone needing a very capable, but inexpensive, mouse for travel and on-the-go.
It worked well, no matter the surface I used it on. And it was whisper quiet when using clicking the main buttons or the back-and-forward options on the left side. It’s a winner for anyone who wants to say goodbye to a laptop trackpad.
