farm-ng last week announced updates to its on-robot software stack. The agricultural robotics company said the updates demonstrate its dedication to providing affordable, practical, and easy-to-use systems for small and midsize farms.
“Our goal has always been to empower farmers with equipment that is both powerful and affordable,” said Brendan Dowdle, CEO of farm-ng. “These latest enhancements to the Amiga robotic platform are a direct response to feedback from our users, aiming to make advanced agricultural technology accessible for farms of all sizes.”
Watsonville, Calif.-based farm-ng said it supports productivity in the field with robotics innovations. Its flagship product — the Amiga — is a modular, electric, open-architecture robot designed to serve small and midsize farms, research institutions, and developers.
“From crop care to data collection, farm-ng empowers the ag community to solve today’s challenges and build tomorrow’s solutions,” the company said. Claire Delaunay, chief technology of farm-ng, was a keynote speaker at RoboBusiness 2024.

Amiga updates include UI
The enhancements include a streamlined, grower-centric user interface (UI), automated implement control within farming zones, improved accuracy in hands-free navigation mode, and a new Job Manager to simplify operations and increase efficiency in the field.
The updated UI gives growers an intuitive dashboard to monitor robot health, switch between apps, and easily manage implements. It allows operators to toggle sprayers on and off or set tools to operate for specific durations. This design ensures that even those with minimal technical experience can effectively utilize the Amiga robot, the company asserted.
farm-ng Job Manager designed to streamline work
The new Job Manager lets users plan, save, and repeat complete tasks within defined paths and zones, said farm-ng. It enables hands-free operations such as seeding, weeding, or spraying with precision tool control. This streamlines repetitive work, saves time, and minimizes human error, the company claimed.
All of the new agbotics software functions are available as over-the-air (OTA) updates. Existing Amiga users can upgrade their systems without needing additional hardware or complex installations, it said.
