Korean studio Shift Up is already hard at work on the highly anticipated sequel to Stellar Blade, and the team has recently unveiled a major technological leap: a state-of-the-art 3D scanning rig. This advanced system is packed with hundreds of cameras and intricate wiring, so much so that it reportedly took two full months just to organize the cables.
The goal? Even more realistic and detailed character models. For the first game, protagonist Eve was modeled after Korean figure Shin Jae-eun using full-body scans. Later post-release content even featured the likeness of cosplayer Yoon Seol-hwa. With this new tech, Shift Up aims to push the realism and fidelity of its character designs to a new level, something fans of Eve’s intricate designs and expansive wardrobe will no doubt appreciate.
The sequel, which is currently targeting a 2027 launch, will most likely release on PS5, as Sony also published the original across PlayStation and PC platforms. With improved visuals and the studio’s clear ambition, expectations are already high for what’s next in the world of Stellar Blade.
