In news that’s as surprising as Nioh 3‘s announcement at State of Play, the sequel to Bandai-Namco’s 2019 Soulsborne, the original Code Vein, was announced at Summer Games Fest.
The previous title’s more character-focused and less slow-paced combat was an interesting alternative in the pre-pandemic days, and one that had it’s fair number of fans. This contributor is one of them, albeit to an admittedly unusual degree.
It is currently uncertain where Code Vein 2 will take place in the shared universe it shares with another Bandai Namco property. The locations look to resemble parts of the original, and the trailer looks to show that this will not look to be the first time the protagonist will have dealt with whatever is currently going on. It looks to be as kinetic and interesting as the first, and, with any hope, the writing will be as surprisingly strong as it was the first time
The only known release date is sometime next year. It will show up on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
