2K Games may be preparing to reveal a new project tied to the BioShock franchise, one of the most iconic video game series of the past two decades.
That’s at least according to a recent report from MP1st. While details remain unconfirmed, they’ve claimed to have received early information suggesting that Rapture, the iconic underwater city from the original game, will play a major role in the upcoming project. Speculation about what this project could be is already circulating. One possibility is the long-awaited BioShock film, which is said to be set in Rapture. Another theory points to a potential remake or remaster of the 2007 classic, as the report mentions “clear references” to the original game within the materials obtained.
It’s also worth noting that a new BioShock title has been in development for some time. Originally announced in 2019, that project was reportedly set in a fictional city located in Antarctica – though the inclusion of Rapture in some form now appears to be on the table. Whether it turns out to be a film, a remaster, or something entirely new, one thing is certain: BioShock is far from forgotten. If the report proves accurate, fans might not have to wait much longer for an official announcement from 2K.
